Adrenal Support Tonic
A warm, calming tonic built on adaptogenic-adjacent ingredients — things that have been used in traditional herbalism to support the body during periods of stress and fatigue.
Time: 10 minutes · Yield: 1 serving
Ingredients
- ●1 cup warm water or warm milk (dairy or plant-based)
- ●1 teaspoon ashwagandha powder
- ●1/2 teaspoon maca powder
- ●1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- ●1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- ●1 teaspoon raw honey
- ●Pinch of sea salt
- ●Pinch of black pepper
Method
- Warm the water or milk gently (not boiling — especially if adding honey later).
- Add the ashwagandha, maca, cinnamon, ginger, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth. A milk frother works well.
- Let cool slightly, then stir in the honey.
- Drink warm, ideally in the morning or early afternoon (some people find ashwagandha energizing).
Note: Ashwagandha and maca are roots with long histories in Ayurvedic and Peruvian traditional medicine, respectively. This is not a medical treatment for adrenal dysfunction. It's a nourishing tonic with traditional use for general wellness support. Start with smaller amounts of ashwagandha (1/2 teaspoon) if you haven't used it before. Consult a healthcare professional if you take thyroid medications, as ashwagandha may interact.
